Heroes Only
Tonight was the "Heroes Only Party". Super Heroes and Heroes of the Bible were invited to a party at the church to remind everyone that we celebrate Jesus every day of the year. Evan had decided a long time ago that he was going as Batman. In fact he had been dressing up like him everyday for the last week. He put the costume on today and didn't take it off until bedtime. The trip to the grocery store was an adventure. He saved me from bad guys several times today:)
Skylar took a while longer to decide who he was going to be. He came to me a few nights ago bothered that he couldn't decide. I went through the list of costumes he had in his play room, but nothing would do. I finally asked if he would like me to make him a Moses costume. We had been learning about him in our studies. He got very excited, hugged me and yelled "yes! that is who I want to be!". We went shopping for fabric and supplies and he helped me sew his costume. Tonight before the party we put his beard and mustache on. I had reserved some wig hair from the wig we cut for him and used the leftovers on his face. He was so patient for what seemed forever. Liquid latex is a wonderful thing.
Both boys really enjoyed the night and brought home too many goodies. Ron starred in a cute and corny super hero skit his sister wrote. He wore a cheesy cape, robe and sunglasses. He and Tres tied up the villain, flew around the room and had the children giggling and cheering for the good guys. It was a lot of fun...I wish I had pictures of that part:)
