Cute or Big? Why Not Both?

Evan came in the house after playing outside with Sky and their neighbor friend. He walked into the room looking down and slumped onto the couch next to me. I asked what was wrong, but he said "nothing". I pressed him and he finally said, "you always say I'm big, cute, big, cute, big, cute!" I said, "yes, what's wrong with that?" He said, "I want to be big, but not cute!" I said, "But you are cute, and you are big. Why can't you be both? The girls will sure like that." Then he said, "I don't like my lame Leapster, I want to have a Didj like Skylar. I want to be cool!" I said, "But you are cool! You are a cute, big, cool, smart kid!!" He smiled at me and seemed okay after that. He hopped up off the couch and said, "ok, I'm going back outside now." I said, "Ok, cutie...I mean big boy." He plugged his ears, rolled his eyes, smiled and walked out the door. I love that kid!!
