Today is Ron and my 13th wedding anniversary. Ron proposed to me at the Olive Garden in Daytona Beach on my birthday in 1997. He had planned on asking me on the beach, but a big storm came and rained us out. Ron improvised. He drove us to dinner and after drying off a bit, got on his knee in front of everyone and asked me to marry him. I said "yes" and then everyone started clapping. One man was so moved that he bought our dinner. The Olive Garden staff came out with a cake, singing and clapping a congrats song. We had a steady stream of people congratulating us as they left the restaurant. It was an amazing night.
We have told that story to the boys several times. Now, every time we drive by an Olive Garden, Evan yells "that's where you asked to be married!!" We decided we are going to include them on our date today and take them to Olive Garden for an early dinner. We will come back home and watch our wedding video together as a family. I love that my boys enjoy our story and that we can include them in on the celebration.
